I just installed ccboard and am trying to change the avatar for myself (the Super Administrator). It is the default avatar, the hooded faceless figure avatar1.png. I browsed to my .jpg on my hard disk, a small jpg file <20KB and 100 by 100 pixels so that is not the problem. I click on upload and it says "Avatar successfully uploaded" but the avatar does not change, it is still the hooded faceless figure avatar1.png. What is going wrong? |

I had the same problem and I am not sure what the reason is but when you upload your avatar, it goes to a folder called personal and it never shows up in the public avatar section. I just went ahead and uploaded all my avatars via ftp to the main folder so we could all have a bunch of avatars to choose from. My friend also tried to upload an avatar and it too did not show up for her. I am not sure of the reason behind this. |

Hi, The feature is implemented in this way. Whenever a user is upload the Avatar it goes to a separate folder, to keep the privacy. Other wise other users shall end up using others avatars. That is why it is implemented in this way. Secondly once the avatar is upload by clicking upload button, do not select anymore avatars from the combo. Hope this helps Thanks Thomas |

Sorry, I don't get this. I'm fairly new to joomla. As an administrator, how can I replace the ugly standard Avatar with my own picture that is to be uploaeded from my computer. I would expect that this can be done in the configuration menu but I don't see it. Please help me out. |

Hi, Please copy and overwrite the image avatar1.png with your desired image. You can find the file at joomlaroot/components/com_ccboard/assets/avatars If you are happy with ccBoard, please do a review/vote at extensions.joomla.org for ccBoard. Thanks Thomas |

Hi,
If you are using ccBoard 1.2-RC, then when you upload the avatar from the front-end it would automatically become private. So login as superadmin, then goto myprofile and upload the avatar. This would resolve your problem.
If you are happy with ccBoard, please do a review/vote at extensions.joomla.org for ccBoard.
Thanks Thomas |

I am having the same problem as the first post in this subject thread, and you never really answered his problem.
"I just installed ccboard and am trying to change the avatar for myself (the Super Administrator). What is going wrong?"
I have changed the hooded guy out and put some other pics in the avatar folder for guests to choose from, but my super admin profile won't change to the one I uploaded, several times by now, it just sticks with avatar1.png, why?
Also, you might like to know that when I post here, if the Security code is not entered correctly all that was typed is lost when you get back down to re-enter the security code?? That is really frustrating! |

Hi,
Please check if there is a folder called pesonal under the assets/avatar folder. If not create one. And also please make sure you have the proper write permission to the folder as well.
Quick Reply box doesnt persists its value, this shall be fixed as part of the next release.
Thanks Thomas |

First of all I am having exactly the same problems described above. I did follow the advice and I made sure that the perosonal directory exists and has write permissions. Then the upload works in the sense that I can see the file in the personal directory. However there seems to be no facility to use the uploaded avatar. I have tried the same procedure on this forum (which is presumably configured correctly). The upload apparently works. However I cannot find my avatar but I can find lots of other peoples avatars. |
