Hi Thomas & fellow CCboarders, first of all thanks for your work and for this support forum which helped me fix by myself many little settings! But i gave up on two others : width management and in-forum navigation (clikable arborescence as is active on this forum). Width management i don't understand, i have a two columns setup ( www.association-membrane.eu ) with things only on the left side, nothing on the right. I purposely deactivated the main menu and the user logon/menu on the ccboard main menu link's properties page but still the right column empty space appears as shown on the picture included...i don't get it. CCboard is the only module that gives me trouble with the non-existent right column ; any ideas? In forum clickable forum sections, titles and post subject i would like to activate, can someone tell me how? I'd like it to be stup as it is on this site basically. Also the login/logoff redirection doesn't work, it always goes back to the frontpage even when i set it to the ccboard link in the main menu but i'm pretty sure this is a joomla issue for which user dshepuk found a turn-around ( editing /components/com_user/views/login/view.html.php ). I include a small image to illustrate the problems and thank YOU in advance for reading me and eventually helping me out! KR, S0l

Hi,
First of all its a template problem. Please increase the width of div#maincolumn in your template.css as width:100%;
Then please create a rank (normal) as post count as zero. Then goto ccBoard dashboard -> tools -> sync.
This would solve all your problems. Then board header can not be clickable.
Thank you for using ccBoard. If you are happy with ccBoard, please do a review/vote at extensions.joomla.org for ccBoard.
Thanks

Hi Thomas,
thanks for your reply, it is indeed a template setting!!
I tried your suggestion, it does make ccboard fill the whole width but it prevents the front page from displaying articles next to the menu module, joomla simply puts the articles below the left positioned modules...so i was wondering is there a way to open ccboard in a new page with a specific template.css or a way to force specific column settings for a component page?
Concerning clickable board headers it didnt change anything they sadly still aren't clickable. I'm not sure i understand if clickability is defined in template or component files?
Thanks again for your time i'll be sure to leave a review on the joomla site.

Hi,
You can open the forum in new window by configuring the menu link. Though Im not sure whether you can solve your problem by putting specific template.
But if you tamper a little bit with the template surely you can achieve this. There are ways to identify the loading component, and based on that, you can adjust the css property. But again all these would be depend upon the template you are using.
Thanks Thomas |

Hello again Thomas,
for your information my width issue was solved by the support team at siteground.com where i got the template, they added some php and now the forum fits nicely as it should.
Concerning the forum and subforum clickable titles, creating a rank didn't change anything. I would like to set it up like you did here on your forum where each subsection of the arborescence is clickable on every page, to allow easy navigation :
Home-->Community-->ccBoard - Support Forum-->Clickable titles, width management and r...
Here i can click on "support forum" and be brought back to the post list without using the browser's back button which is cumbersome ; where can i activate that functionality on my site?
Thanks again for your help!

Hi,
Joomla has got a module called BreadCrumb please install/enable this. Then ccBoard shall use the same.
Thanks Thomas |

Thomas,
In regards to the posters previous question and your answer here about the BreadCrumb, I have installed and enabled this, but it still does not show up in my forum. Any thoughts, suggestions? AstroDon

Hi,
Probably your template does not support this. Please change your template to joomla default Milkyway and check it is appearing.
If you are happy with ccBoard, please do a review/vote at extensions.joomla.org for ccBoard.
Thanks Thomas

That did it. Unfortunately I don't care for this particular template. Can you suggest others that support the breadcrumbs? |
