Hi to all!

I am currently working on my first web page so I'm kind of a newbie in this. Anyway I am building the page using Joomla and making a very good progress. However, today I decided to put a forum on my page. Naturally I was thinking in Joomla extensions, so I started searching. After some time of research I decided that I like ccBoard best and I want to use this extension, so I downloaded the zip file from this site.

However for some reason, Joomla isn't able to install it to my site. Previously I installed extensions without any problem, and I am sure as hell that I am doing everything the same.

I have tried to install it with both 3 methods which Joomla provides, also I unpacked the zip to my computer and tried to compress it to several other package forms without any success.

I am using Joomla version 1.5.14 and whatever I try it always shows the same message: "Unable to detect manifest file"

If anyone here finds out what am I doing wrong I'd be really thankful!

I can't increase it, I am not running my own web server. I can only configure Joomla.

Any other suggestions? Perhaps a guide to manually install the extension?

Hey, i tryed making my own php5.ini file and using that, and when i go load my site, i get this error, Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:The MySQL adapter "mysql" is not available. so from what i can see the php5.ini file is the problem. i have searched hours on this and i never get a full answer. i asked godaddy (host) to change the setting for me and they said they cant, and i should search the internet to get an answer. so basically im on my own. i got rid of the php5 file i created, and my site is back up. i will post what i have in my php5.ini file, also i have php version 5, just so u know. here is the contents of my php5.ini file, thanks for your help in advance.

max_execution_time = 60
register_globals = off
allow_url_fopen = off
upload_max_filesize = 24M #{upload size setting}
post_max_size = 24M #{upload size setting}
expose_php = Off
max_input_time = 60
variables_order = "EGPCS"
extension_dir = ./
upload_tmp_dir = /tmp
precision = 12
SMTP = relay-hosting.secureserver.net
url_rewriter.tags = "a=href,area=href,frame=src,input=src,form=,fieldset="

just dont know if any of this is right.

Hi,

This would be fairly simple trick, Could you please install one of the joomla old version. And try installing components.

Once it is ok, try migrating to the latest version.

Thanks
